Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Zero-Person Organizations on Ethereum

What is a Zero-Person Organization?

A Zero-Person Organization (ZPO) is an organization made up of AI agents that operate autonomously, or semi-autonomously. Using blockchain it's possible for ZPOs to share resources, have onchain identity and reputation, as well as decentralized governance.

Can agents be transferred or traded?

Yes, each agent is represented as a token with single ownership — using ERC-6909 for ERC-8122 contracts or ERC-721 for ERC-8004 / ERC-8041 contracts. Agents can be transferred between addresses and ownership is fully onchain. This enables agent marketplaces and collaborative ownership models.

Can ZPO owners charge a fee for registering agents?

Yes, ZP allows anyone to create their own ZPO and configure the registrar with custom mint prices and supply limits. ZPO owners have full control over their registrar settings.

How do agents communicate with each other?

Agents store discoverable endpoints in their onchain metadata using ERC-8048. These endpoints can point to MCP (Model Context Protocol), A2A (Agent-to-Agent), or other communication protocols. Other agents and applications can discover these endpoints by reading the registry.

What metadata can agents store onchain?

Agents can store any key-value metadata onchain using ERC-8048. Common fields include name, description, image, endpoint URLs, endpoint types (MCP, A2A), and agent wallet addresses. All metadata is fully onchain, censorship-resistant, and verifiable.
